{"id":44,"date":"2013-02-13T01:04:24","date_gmt":"2013-02-13T01:04:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gunblinger.com\/?p=44"},"modified":"2023-05-16T06:18:28","modified_gmt":"2023-05-16T06:18:28","slug":"heaven-knows-hes-miserable-now-morrissey-cancels-us-tour-dates-due-to-bleeding-ulcer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/gunblinger.com\/?p=44","title":{"rendered":"Heaven knows hes miserable now  Morrissey cancels US tour dates due to bleeding ulcer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Smith\u2019s frontman Morrissey has been forced to cancel nine tour dates after he was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.billboard.com\/articles\/news\/1532610\/morrissey-hospitalized-in-michigan\">admitted to William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan last week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Morrissey was suspected of suffering from a bladder infection, however tests have discovered that he is suffering from a bleeding ulcer and although he is expected to make a full recovery within two weeks, he has been forced to reschedule several shows of his US Tour.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gunblinger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/morrissey.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-45\" src=\"http:\/\/gunblinger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/morrissey-220x300.jpg\" alt=\"morrissey\" width=\"220\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/gunblinger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/morrissey-220x300.jpg 220w, http:\/\/gunblinger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/morrissey.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 220px) 100vw, 220px\" \/><\/a>After being admitted, Morrissey had already been forced to reschedule three shows staring with his Flint (Michigan) show on 24<sup>th<\/sup> January, and subsequent shows in the days following in Minneapolis and Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>But after the diagnosis was worse than initially feared, he has also been forced to do the same for forthcoming shows in Asheville (North Carolina), Nashville (Tennessee), Atlanta (Georgia), Lawrence (Kansas), Clear Lake (Iowa) and Lincoln (Nebraska).<\/p>\n<p>It is the second time that Morrissey has been forced to reschedule shows as part of a tour. Last year, when the singer\u2019s mother fell ill, Morrissey rescheduled several shows so he could spend time with her.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/uk.reuters.com\/article\/2013\/01\/28\/uk-morrissey-idUKBRE90P0L920130128\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The singer expects to restart his tour on February 9<sup>th<\/sup> with a show in Las Vegas (Nevada).<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It has been a busy few months for the English singer, he toured America in the autumn of last year, then played several dates in New Zealand and Australia before returning to the United States in early January.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMorrissey is expected to make a full recovery and thanks everyone concerned for their support,\u201d stated his representative Lauren Papapietro.
